I happened across a delightful discovery at my local grocery store—a display of natural bar soap on the end cap of the deodorant aisle. It is locally produced by a small family-run business here in Minnesota.
What appealed to me were the pure, simple ingredients such as fresh goat’s milk, olive oil and coconut oil. I would rather not use by-products from some rendering plant or anything of a petroleum origin.
The fragrances are very pleasantly subtle—not overpowering. I settled on Olive Flower to take home to try. And I absolutely loved it! It had such a great soft and silky lather.
According to the leaflets on hand, goat’s milk soap is an “ultra-moisturizer” containing many “good fats.” I did not know goat’s milk contains naturally occurring glycerin, which helps retain moisture on the skin and combat the effects of harsh winter air that is so drying to the skin. And it delivers calcium to the skin to keep it healthy.
So, for anybody out there with dry, itchy skin, I definitely recommend trying this soap. It certainly was a nice treat for me. Check out their website at www.kcpottery.com for more information and where to buy in addition to Cub Foods in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
